You Built More Than Five Houses

Several years ago, many of you helped make something extraordinary possible.

Together, we built five flood relief homes for families in Timor-Leste who had lost so much. At the time, it felt like the story was about houses.

Looking back today, we realize it was about so much more.

While our team worked alongside these families, something unexpected happened.
             Between mixing concrete and raising walls, friendships began to grow.
                         Conversations turned into opportunities to share Bible stories, encourage parents, pray together, and simply live out the love of Christ.

After dedicating two of the homes, our director Matthew wrote these words:

“I can see and feel how they have been touched and encouraged by the Bible stories we shared. They wanted to know more and more, like no one had ever shared these stories with them before.”

One mother expressed her gratitude with tears, saying:

“We have nothing to give you, but God will give you more. Please come back.”

Those words became an invitation. We did come back.
         Again. And again.

Over time, those relationships led us beyond the original village and into neighboring communities, including Mota-Ulun—a mountain village with no road access, where children now gather to learn English through Bible stories, explore basic computer skills, and experience the love of Christ through our local team.

Recently, the people of Mota-Ulun offered land where a simple meeting place could be built so this ministry can continue to grow.

The seeds planted through your generosity several years ago are still bearing fruit today.

Your prayers didn’t end with five houses.

Your giving didn’t end with flood relief.

God has continued to multiply what was faithfully sown into His Kingdom.

The Bible reminds us in 1 Samuel 30,
       that those who remain with the supplies share equally in the victory with those who go into the battle.

You may never... hike the mountain trails into Mota-Ulun.
You may never... cross the rivers with Matthew and our team.
You may never... meet Carla or the children whose stories we’ll be sharing in the months ahead.
